FR Certificates
Our website features several fabrics already with flame retardant treatment.
In some fabrics these treatments are possible, but not included, being optional its application and the choice of the necessary certificate.

BRITISH BS 5852 SOURCE 0,1 E 5 (CIGARETTE, MATCH) AND (CRIB)
This test is designed for the purpose of determining possible ignition hazards, as well as the resistance of the material or furniture to the risk of not catching fire. This certificate is an official document that proves that the furniture or materials have passed a rigorous test.
Source 0: Cigarette smoking.
A cigarette is placed along the slit of the test stand and burned along its entire length. If no flame or progressive smoldering is observed on the cover and internal material, the test is recorded as no ignition and the material passes the test.
Source 1: Simulated match.
An ignition source is lit and held along the slit of the test stand for 20 seconds and then removed. If no flame or progressive smoldering is observed on the cover and internal material, the test is recorded as no ignition and the material passes the test.
Source 5: Test on wood.
An object is composed of wood planks glued together. Lint is attached to the underside. After adding propanediol, the object is placed on the test stand and lit with a match. If no flame or progressive smoldering is observed in the material, the test is recorded as no ignition and the material passes the test.

EN1021 PART 1 AND 2
Valid throughout Europe, this test evaluates the flammability of fabric and material combinations when exposed to different ignition sources, namely a lit cigarette or butane flame.
This test is evaluated on two levels:
Level 1: A cigarette is lit and placed in the slit of the test stand in contact with the back and seat of a garment. It is left to burn along its entire length. The fabric is observed to be burned or flaming.
Level 2: The composite test stand is now tested with a butane flame, which simulates a lit match, to the gap. After removing the flame, the fabric starts to burn or burns within 2min.
The product passes the test if there is no ignition or charring area.

IMO FTPC P7
IMO is a certificate suitable for the maritime area, valid throughout Europe.
This test is performed on a fabric sample tested vertically. It is ignited at the bottom edge, to observe and notice if ignition occurs. After the flame time, that is, after the ignition source from the fabric to the edges we analyse the burning of droplets, the charred length, and the possibility of surface sparks.
The tested material passes the test if it exhibits the following characteristics:
Maximum post-flame time of 5 seconds.
- No burning of the edges.
- No cotton pad ignition.
- Average coal length of 150 mm maximum.
- No occurrence of surface spark propagating for more than 1mm.

CAL 117
Valid for California, this certificate sets the standard for flammability of upholstered furniture in the furniture industry. Although the certificate is legally valid only for the state of California it is now used as a national standard. CAL 117 requires that certain materials used in residential furniture pass the open flame and smoldering test.
The tests are conducted in a closed test chamber, where technicians can measure how quickly the open flame spreads and grows. The smoldering test involves placing a lit cigarette on the furniture and measuring the length of charcoal that forms. Technicians also measure the amount of heat, smoke, and carbon monoxide that is generated. Once the results are recorded, the data is compared to specific criteria, and a score is assigned that will result in a certification for the manufacturer.

USA NFPA 260 CLASS 1
Valid for America this certificate measures the combustion properties, or fire resistance, of upholstered furniture that can be exposed to cigarette ignition.
This test is conducted using a lit cigarette covered with a sheet. The cigarette must burn through its entire length.
The test material is classified as Class I or Class II. If obvious ignition occurs, the material is Class II. Otherwise, the damage caused to the vertical panel is measured to determine its classification.

BS5867 PART 2 TYPE A, B AND C
This FR fabric test is applied to curtain fabric only.
The product is tested before and after cleaning by means of a fabric sample placed vertically in a metal frame. This frame has two measuring markers. A flame is applied to the surface of the material for 10 seconds.
The test is classified into two types:
Type B – the ease of ignition is evaluated based on whether the flame can reach the edge of the sample or if there is carbonization of part of it.
Type C – evaluates the durability of the flame and the time until its complete extinction.

Environmental Certificates
OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100
STANDARD 100 certification by OEKO-TEX® guarantees the legal compliance of tested textile products.
It also states that a product certified with STANDARD 100 has been reliably tested for the presence of harmful substances, making it completely safe for human and animal health.

ISO 14001
ISO 14001 certification – Environmental Management Systems (EMS) is an international standard that allows companies to demonstrate their commitment to protecting the environment by managing the environmental risks associated with their activities. By assuming environmental responsibility, in addition to reducing the impact on the environment resulting from its activity, the company’s sustainable business image is projected and reinforced.
